City of Elephant Butte

PUBLIC UTILITY ADVISORY BOARD

The City of Elephant Butte is in the process of establishing a Public Utility Advisory Board. The board will include three customers of the City of Elephant Butte water system in addition to City Councilor Gerald LaFont and City Manager Vicki Ballinger.


Interested parties should submit a letter of interest to cityclerk@cityofeb.com


A minimum of four quarterly meetings will be scheduled with the potential of additional meetings as needed. Board recommendations to the City shall be advisory in nature, and shall not bind the City Council.

In observance of New Year’s, City Hall will be closed on Friday, January 2021. We will re-open for appointments and calls (575) 744-4892 on Monday, January 2021, at 8:00 am. We will remain closed to the general public. For help with permits, please call (575) 744-5000.

Land Use Applications

The Fire Department / Land Use Administration Office will be closed to the public from December 28 through December 31. The last land use applications for 2020 will be accepted on December 21 and processed by December 23. All other applications will be processed on January 4, 2021.

NOTICE OF ADOPTION – ORDINANCE 194

Notice is hereby given that Ordinance 194 was adopted during a duly advertised public meeting of the governing body of the City of Elephant Butte, NM on December 16, 2020. 

Ordinance 194 is an ordinance amending the City of Elephant Butte Code of Ordinances 2015, Chapter 154, Drainage and Erosion Control.

Small Business CARES Relief Grants from the NM Financial Authority (NMFA)

The Small Business CARES Relief Grant Program was created by the State of New Mexico in the November 2020 Special Session to provide $100 million in grant funding to New Mexico small businesses that are experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic.   Applications will be available starting at noon on Monday, December 7.
