The Elephant Butte Fire & Rescue Department (EBFRD) is tasked with providing fire and emergency medical services to the residents of Elephant Butte and nearby jurisdictions. The EBFRD is a combination department consisting of a staff Fire Chief who oversees volunteer firefighters and EMT’s. Volunteer members of the EBFRD are compensated by Fire Stipend $20 per call! Elephant Butte Fire Department is always looking for additional motivated volunteers to join the department, from seasoned responders to interested newcomers.
